Search Tip 1:
How do I search property records, on-line, by owners' name. That service is
not available. California Government Code 6254.21 states that "No state or
local agency shall post the home address or telephone number of any elected or appointed
official on the Internet without first obtaining the written permission of that
individual." As the cost to collect and continuously update that information
is prohibitive, the On-Line Property Assessment Information System does not display
any Assessee's name information. However, Assessee's information is currently
available either by microfiche or on a public terminal at the Assessor's Office
located at 70 West Hedding Street, San Jose, East Wing 5th Floor, Monday through
Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m.
